BBQ - Brands
Hi All,
A simple question - can you recommend a good new BBQ brand for around $500AUD, it will be use for family & friends so no massive cooking sessions. We have seen a few makes in this price range but any personal preferences from experienced BBQers? There is a fair range to choose from as they all seem to have multiple features............... Thanks |
Re: BBQ - Brands
I spent $200 at bunnings (was half price), but I found it burnt the food , however I got some new flame tamers (the ones with ceramic rocks) and it now works a treat.

We got ours from KMart, don't know the real make but it's one of Jamie Durie's range (apparently he's famous but I've no idea really). It's a damn good barbie, I know that much :D

Our Aussie mate has one of Jamie's which he got in BigW. Seems quite happy with it, think it's the $398 one at the bottom

And do the best roasts too in winter. Got 2 Q300's this year and they're great... Joe's, the local BBQ store, has them and Beefeater... Says he sells 5 to 1 in Webber's favour... even though Beefeater is cheaper... |

Re: BBQ - Brands
I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the BBQs mentioned above.
The only advice I can offer (and I hear it regularly) is that you would be wise to go for a 4 burner as a minimum. A friend of mine constantly berates his 2 burner Weber and wished he'd gone for a 4 burner Bunnings instead. One other thing, if you're anything like me then you won't have spent a lot of time BBQing back in the UK so if you're a bit of a newbie BBQer and need tips and recipes etc, then here is a good place to look if you decide not to purchase books etc: http://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/co...echniques.aspx Have fun! |
