and I caught a bit of last nights...
British Leyland and how smug the workers were.

They demanded huge pay rises, and were willing to strike about anything. Apparently one complaint was that cats came into the factory and used the floor as a toilet...cue strike.
Cleaners came in to clean it....floor was too wet...cue strike.

In the meantime productivity was at 45% and the slack was being taken up in S Korea.

Wonder how the car workers of recent years feel about these guys who did their damndest to kill the industry?

And many on here would have us believe that Thatcher destroyed British manufacturing. Bizarre.
