Default Batten down the hatches.

Possibility of another severe storm going to hit the UK, similar to 87, around the end of November. Anyone else heard about this. ?

UK media winds the public up so much its a wonder they know what to believe.

But the telegraph says people are being asked to evacuate their homes.

Looks pretty serious, on the BBC weather page we have the following:

Thursday 8 November SEVERE FLOOD WARNING There are currently 8 severe flood warnings in force across the United Kingdom: Anglian (8) Further updates will appear here.

Severe Flood Warning
This is the warning issued when serious flooding is expected and there is imminent danger to life and property. If your warning is upgraded to this you should be prepared for your gas, electricity, water, and telephone supplies being lost, you're advised to keep calm and reassure others, and co-operate with the emergency services.

Yep, we have had the warnings - something about the Thames flood barriers closing - although I didnt hear the full news as we kept losing signal on our TV. Dont know if anyone can add to that?

But we have gone on flood alert although some parts are going to be hit worse than others.

The news speaks of flooding on the east coast and a possible storm surge. The surf report is for a 13.5 foot swell at my local beach, so I'm sorted. Better surf than the east coast of Aus, shame about the water temps.

Its true, they said that on our local news tonight - people in certain costal areas are being asked to evacuate now.

Im glad I live in London but feel very sorry for anyone who might be affected.
