Back to Square One!

Feel free to ignore me if you like, otherwise expressions of sympathy, offers of cake & cyber-{{{HUGS}}} are all most welcome

Have spent the last week or more obsessing, phoning round for copies of Birth Certs, trying to get bits & pieces regarding my nursing quals together, more obsessing, looking for evidence of defacto relationship & panicking coz we don't have the right things, more obsessing, tracking down OH's degree transcript in another blinking country.....

Am I the only one who feels that this stage of trying to gather all of the info together in one place is just some never-ending cycle of torture designed to personally frustrate the hell out of me???

And if (and it's a big IF) I ever get all of this stuff together, do I really have to get it all signed by a solicitor & post the blasted stuff off to Australia???

Today, this seems absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

Ohh hun, sorry you're feeling this way today
big hugs from me <<< hugs>>>
It does feel like a never ending process that's designed to torture the soul out of you BUT it will be worth it in the end when you get that visa :D
I guess I looked at it that if it was really easy everyone would be doing it and then I probably wouldn't want to go!
Keep the faith, it may all look much better tomorrow

Cheers sals & thanks also to the few kind people who sneakily sent me karma yesterday :)

Being able to rant here helps, because apart from the few people we have HAD to contact for references, transcripts, etc., no-one in our family knows we are going to apply yet - we've talked about it for ages of course, but until we know one way or another with ex & if we can take the kids, we've decided not to say anything.

So you're all great (including that wierd guy who posts details of his drive-building.....)

Yup and then possibly you could have to do the same stuff again once you're out here. Well other professions do, don't know about nurses. It's how the system works and there's no way round it.

Take a day or two off from even mentioning or thinking of Aus. Come back to the paperwork with new enthusiasm.

Took us months to collect all our paperwork, get it signed etc...felt like giving up many times, it was as if they did it on purpose to put us off.

But....we carried on just to see if we could pull it off...and here we are:D

So good luck, stay strong and loads of hugs;)

It might seem ridiculous now, but when you have your visa you'll be thinking what on earth you were worried about. I was the same and panicked over everything while putting our application together. (although we were applying for spouse visa so I don't suppose as half as bad as what some of you have to go thru)

I think the advice of going away for a day or two and coming back with new enthusiasm gets a two thumbs up from me. Great advice!

Good Luck!

You're all right - I'm getting this all out of proportion!

I blame you lot, with your "Hey! I Got My Visa Today!" posts - you all should be banned :curse:

Hey, you will be able to post a thread like that one day:thumbup:
Have faith!
The paperwork is tedious but necessary. Try not to get bogged down & like others have advised, leaving it for a few days & coming back to it fresh is a really good idea!
Oh, & lots of wine helps too:thumbsup:Hic!:o

Re: Back to Square One!

Took me 6 months to get all my documentation ready so I could send it to TRA it is an absolute nightmare at times but more than worth it in the end.
give it time and you'll be crying out for things to do rather than just sitting and waiting.

Hang in there Jennigee, you will get the paperwork together and then you will be frustrated because you have nothing to do while others assess your nursing quals etc.

It will all be worth it

BE is a great way to vent your angst so go for it!!!

hi JennyGee,
once you have everything signed by a solicitor make sure you take a few copies of the verified certs and keep them in a folder to hand 'cause you'll need more when you send for your app, this will save you a bit of running around getting more/the same paperwork verified. good luck.

Wise words - I got my docs certified for my skills assessment, Royal Mail went and lost them for 6 weeks so had to get another set done. Cost a bloody fortune that I could have saved if I'd got 2 sets done the first time round.

Re: Back to Square One!

Thanks for all the advice - I will definitely be taking copies of the things once they have been signed - that's a great tip, thanks :)

Feeling a lot better now - had a good moan at the OH when he came in from work & now he's on about selling my baby, my pride & joy....yep, my CAR!!!

What a bugger!!!

I would have had a drink by now, but we've got nothing in - I polished off the Malibu last night

Night night folks :p
