Yes.
Australia = Bad
UK = Good..... perhaps less 'good' if you fancy a beer in parts of London !

Oh do tell....

On what basis could he be "Kicked out" of Australia for a similar crime ?

Yes but on what basis has the judge made the judgment?

The judge doesn't say if he believes this to be true or not?

So on what basis has the judge allowed him to stay in UK?

"The judge did not give his full reasons for the decision, indicating that they would follow in a few weeks time."

I rather think the judge looked at the overall picture and decided simply that on balance the chap could remain with his family and would be no further hindrance to future UK boat races.

He also may have felt the whole thing was a waste of public funds, gave undue publicity to this silly fellow and was more bother than it was worth .

Presumable, just long enough for people to forget about it all.

There is zero chance, that any judge will stand up in court and say that he's allowed this clown to remain, because he thinks his wife might suffer prejudice in Australia.. none.

Sounds about right.

The difficulty is this can result in the judge inadvertently condoning bad behaviour and sends a message out to cry racism where it's not necessarily true or correct.

The funny thing is there are at least 3 of the most racist/bigoted people on BE sticking up for Australia as a none racist country.

By the way I don't in anyway believe Australia to be anymore racist than the UK.

I certainly consider Australia to be more overtly racist and fall back on the 'its just a joke' defense. There is still a lot of growing up to do in Australia so hopefully that will change.
Papilon, the irony wasnt lost on me to be honest.
