I migrated on a skilled visa as a FITTER, welder manufacturing technician. and finding it a tad difficult finding work in this field , theres plenty cleaning jobs , or backpackers stuff , ive met others who are proffesional solicitors/accountants etc that drive taxis ,due to the lack of work. i'm a welder /sheet metal worker and i just walked in a sheet metal shop while on holiday and got offered a job,that was brisbane though good luck

Geez, took you a while to find that didn't it? Or do you have it saved somewhere for special occasions?

Many of the skilled shortages in australia, are not actually applicable in the majority of places people would like to live. Australia has most of its population in cities, suburbs around the coast, its areas outside this that cant attract workers.

Search any job site and see how many jobs there are in western qld, outback WA etc, unfortunately that info is rarely attached to articles on the skills shortage. Also the skills info seems to overlook things such as the housing boom died 3 years ago, so ditto for tradesmen.

As for rude people, there was a media poll yesterday about 90% of the voters agreed australia is a rude and selfish society. Probably best not to put that in one of your first posts tho people dont really want to hear that.
