The Hawke and Keating years did the damage. The left wing of Labor had the power to demilitarise the Military, and did so.

When the first real test in the Howard years came up - Timor - there was absolute chaos.

They cost too much money for them to deploy only to be shot down.

The Longbow Apache costs a lot more, and the US, UK, Netherlands deploy them in Afghanistan. I don't think any have been shot down, although some have crashed.

Rather than the front line deploy them as the commanders.

Would reduce the conflicts as troops of both sides get sent in the wrong direction

They'd have to make the tank parking spaces bigger.

One of the great things about a tank is that you can park it pretty much anywhere - ideal for women drivers

Erm, but even tanks struggle with verticle walls.

But the US, UK and the Netherlands are happy to put their money where their mouth is. Australia just want a few helos for appearances but to put them into action is just too unpalatable with the overly-PC public.

But they'd be driving in the wrong direction. Good for the enemy!

I think we just crashed one of our few Chinhooks. I don't know the circumstances though, flyng over there can be very difficult at times and all nations have lost helicopters in accidents.

Not when every other vehicle in the shopping centre car park is a tank.

I don't see why not. If they can go on the front line then why can't they go special forces too?

Not saying it's a good idea though.

Boxing is never a great idea for a profession, but you know, it's up to the individual isn't it.
