Hey All-
My family and I are in the process of applying for immigration to Oz and at the same time trying to decide where we would live.

Some people have started mentioning Newcastle in NSW - does anyone live there or have any useful info?

we do. its a nice enough place, but it depends on your work.

can be a little cliquey.

beaches are good and schools/uni is very good.

Type "newcastle" into the search function on here and you will find a minimum of two threads that go into a lot of detail about Newcastle... I've been here for 6 months but am moving to south of Sydney tomorrow

K cool thanks for the advice I'll do search on this site.

I have been looking at the Newcastle council website and it seems that Newcastle has the lowest percentage of families in Aus...weird. Is that pretty obvious or just another stat?

I've also been looking at surf sites though and it looks like Newcastle has epic waves...my mind has been made up, now just to persuade the OH

Was'nt there a big earthquake there 20 years ago a that killed 15 people and
OZ hardly ever gets any earthquakes.
