Anyone else live in Northbridge

Northbridge or knife bridge as it is known is a dump.but I would not live anywhere else in Perth:p as at least it has a bit of life, anyone else chancing their luck in my area or are you all in the "posh spots"

Northbridge or anywhere else like Fremantle attracts the druggies, homeless, gang thugs, and anti social misfits, because they believe ‘it’s the place to be’ but when they fail to have enough money - they rob, they see people enjoying themselves - they get jealous and fight, as they can’t afford to be there and no one wants to be their friend they get aggressive and go into a rage against the community. To say that there isn’t a bunch of belligerent people lurking around where ever it becomes a ‘popular’ social scene is dreaming. The only reason Subi doesn’t get it as much is because it’s far easier for those to evade a fare and get to northbridge on the train. And a lot more soft targets for them to prey on.

The majority of people that post here are people with kids. They obviously wouldn't live in Northbridge. As a single man there are lots of other places you could live that aren't as shit as Northbridge. I know single males friends that live in Highgate, Mt Lawley, Leederville and as you mention Subiaco and Fremantle which in my book isn't even on the same radar as Northbridge.

:confused:Nor I, as the whole of the post is just a cut and paste from two seperate entries from here

I do wonder if Earlswoody is actually in Australia or if he/she just likes to post controversial things to see what reaction he/she will get.

I am asking who else lives in Northbridge and do they fine it is getting slowley worse with crime and anti-social behaviour as I find it is.
I cannot live anywhere else as I work in Northbridge and have no transport....plus the rest of Perth is more boring than this place.

I believe there is a public transit system in Perth which would get you from any other suburb to Northbridge quite easily. As a matter of fact, I've used it on occasion and found it to be clean and safe. www.transperth.wa.gov.au

Re: Anyone else live in Northbridge

I happily lived in Fremantle for 6 months and even now only live 5km away from it - it is not rough, it does have life to it and it certainly isnt boring.

We have no car and get by perfectly well on public transport - I catch the bus into work - takes me about an hour.

Despite what people may tell you, you can survive without a car providing you use the legs that you were born with and the intelligence to check the timetables of the public transport system and you are prepared to knuckle down and do the commute - you won't die, and if you do get the usual comments of 'Oh you MUST have a car' then please ignore them, not having a vehicle is not a deportation offence.

If you really find Perth that boring then why not write down a list of what you do like and whether or not it is possible to do any of those things, if it isn't then make a new list.

Mr PP passed his test the other day:thumbsup:

Even if I get a car I will still use public transport to get to work. I pay $30 a week for my smart rider card, it would cost double that for parking and when my friend drives me in it actually takes longer.

I get the bus from Esplanade to Spearwood and I am home in an hour or perhaps just over.

A car would be useful but until we can afford it we shall carry on the way we are and it really isn't that bad.:)

Good luck with your test:thumbsup:

Im not sure if it was in Freo, I dont know where the test centre is, his examiner was a German guy who Mr PP said was very nice indeed.

He said it wasnt too bad at all. He has his log book to complete and then he has to do his hazard perception test - he got 28 out of 30 in the mock test last night.

I am not being rude, but are you in a wheelchair, perhaps that maybe a reason that you are struggling.?We have lived in Perth for over two years.Up till yesterday we managed on one car taking the kids to school on the freeway and getting my husband back and forward to work twice a day as he does split shifts as a chef.He also worked in Northbridge for a year and loved it.In fact he says he misses the buzz.
