I wonder if there is such a thing as a portable wood burner, where you could maybe stick the flu out of a window.

Ah just buy one, they are brilliant

Feels really nippy 2day. Thinking of getting the burner going so I can get some work done without freezing.
Odd as its quite warm outside

The houses arent really built for winter though so it seems colder.
Also, you seem to acclimatise quickly so 20 or below feels really nippy, sounds ridiculous but its true.
Only short though, lasts 2 months then its hot hot hot
Totally agree...I'm sitting here right now (it's 10am) freezing my t*ts off. Have just opened front door and it is warmer outside!

Why oh why don't thay make houses over here for both winter and summer conditions. I really think they should use double glazing, as I think that would help alot BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Yes ... it is ridiculously cold in Perth ... I believe it dropped below 18 yesterday.

What I would give for my 2 up 2 down semi with central heating and double glazing.

It's fantastic, and on track to be the coldest Brisbane day for 90 years (if you believe the media).

I love walking as fast as I like without being reduced to a mountain of sweat.

When I first came to Brisbane I imagined a very dull 'all year round' sort of weather pattern, I have been pleasantly surprised. Variety is the key for me.

It is actually lovely being able to go for a walk without dripping isnt it.
I actually love winter here - its like a pretend one with lovely blue skies, warmish days and nippy anough for a fire at night

We can't win, too hot in summer, freezing in winter! Bloody tiles everywhere don't help! Warmer outside, feel a trip to the local cafe coming on for a nice hot choc with marshmellows! Or maybe I can hang around the freezer section in Woolies - its gotta be warmer!
