. We do have a well used wood burner, love that but I like a really dramatic change of seasons, like 3 metres of snow, streets knee high in autumn leaves, seeing and feeling it is totally different.
Plus the atmosphere, I dont know if Hobart at Chrstmas is quite the wonderland of say Quebec, London, York or New York.
Its odd how I crave the proper seasons now as when I lived in UK I never gave it much thought, certainly didnt appreciate it.

What cresta said ... Look at it this way:
1) Someone posts that in Oz there is no difference between Summer and Winter and that they miss seasonal variations
2) I post that in places there are in fact differences, you can ski in winter and sweat your 'nads off in summer.
Why do I do this? Is it to piss sensitive people off?
No, it's to point out to prospective migrants (like wot this site is comprised of) that everything posted is not to be taken as gospel despite what Phil Up His Arse In Australia would lead them to believe.

Well, I miss country lanes and inglenook fireplaces and fauna that doesn't kill you and flora that goes crazy rambling and still looks great (and doesn't provide hiding places for creatures that kill you). I miss jumble sales and wonderful eccentrics and people with sharp wits and random kindness.
