Not always shit. They did win the World Cup in 1966.

If Brexit means less foreign talent playing in England, I think they could be contenders in 18 years time as they might have to take grass roots more seriously. It might even mean more Irish players get scouted for premier league teams.

I wonder will Ireland now try to 'stop the ferries'.

They should at least train together way more than last minute before a tournament.

LoL many English people I know have stopped following ENG soccer more than a decade ago. They'd rather discuss rugby.

Would you not need to find a job there first? Won't you fall foul of the No Visa No Job, No Job No visa catch 22 situation?

The UK is still an EU member. The trick would be to make the move now and establish residency before the end of the two year negotiating period should free movement not be part of the deal.

That might be easier said than done. I'm not sure many employers would take a punt on somebody they may or may not have to let go at some indeterminate point in the future.

Even if Brexit doesn't come to fruition, I suspect that these events have more than likely destroyed the employability of Brits across the continent now in the short to medium term.

According to this, Cyprus looks pretty easy:

EU passports: just how easy are they to get?

with one caveat: national service

Just do a Julian Assange and find an embassy in your preferred EU country.

are you suggesting we commit (or be alleged to have committed) a criminal offence first?

Do a Joe Hockey then and get a job there. Aussies are good at running away to embassy hideouts I guess.
