Has anyone had an ambulance while been in Aus?? Ive got an ambulance bill but i didnt call for it nor was i in any fit state to refuse it... What to do??

we pay ambulance cover
and health insurance
I often wonder whether we actually need the latter but you know...when in Rome

Family cover in Vic is $125 and can be paid 1/4 ly.

Be careful with some PH health ambo covers because sometimes they dont cover Air or MICA or inter state.

You get Ambulance cover added automatically on to your Electric(??) bill here (Queensland).....make sure you have it, otherwise it can be a tad expensive

Why is ambulance cover a rip off? Private health insurance probably is but I'd disagree on the ambulance one.

Why isn't it covered by the medicare levy?
it seems a pretty basic need to call an ambulance eg when you're having a heart attack, so it should be covered by medicare.
fair enough to get a bill if you'ere abusing the system, but otherwise, it's a complete rip off.
Australians put up with it cos they don't know anything else...
