I think I am getting a little addicted to BE too! Although not completely under the influence as only access during the day (working hours ha ha).

This could be because I still have dial up access at home and I am basically tight as a badgers ar***, especially as I am saving up for fab new Oz wardrobe (to be purchased in Thailand prior to landing).

Still not getting any Ugg Boots though.

OMG that's me too ... even down to the change in wine purchased! Will look out for hair products and feet stuff - feet need attention is currently always in "thongs" - no you see - it doesn't sound right, or look right when written!! Flip flops for ever in my vocab!

Have given up on new life down under though - truely awful but husband now concerned as I like the Beach House Down Under series - have to sky plus it as on at silly times but really cool properties ... concerning husband as we're locating some 2 hrs inland from any beaches!

Wilkinson's have special offer on the Aussie shampoo and conditioners - told you I was tight (careful) with money! and it works wonderfully (so far).

OH is getting worried about my viewing habits too! Sat through 1/2 hour of two women shopping for designer outfits in Sydney! Even watch the deadliest animals type programs too! Scary animal life down under!

Even support the Socceroos in the World Cup (could be cause I got them in the sweep stake at work).

Signing off now - going to Gym for my swim!

He he, I can beat that, I was actually recording Australian Princess when it was on and there was recently a good show called Border Patrol or something similar about Aussie customs. Location Location and Hot Property are worth a watch too, although Debra Hutton does my head in :D . Currently (right this minute) watching Kids Ward - from Sydney Children's Hospital on Sky and have Sky+ set to record the rest of the series.

Hee, hee - sounds like me. :D

Check every episode of Place in the Sun to see if its Oz
Taped Australia's Deadliest Destinations the other day (will probably totally creep me out)
Hubby now only buys Australian Wine
Have a few books to add to my 'library'
Restrict internet access at work to lunchtimes only as we have internet monitoring - but it is a struggle to keep away from the site

So no you are definitely not alone

I'm going to horrify you now, but it's all in a good cause - believe me! :o

The only Australian thing about that shampoo is the Macadamia nut, which comes from Queensland.

The shampoo itself is made in the UK by a UK company called Clairol. Clairol is a "personal care products" division of another UK company: Proctor and Gamble.

There are some very decent genuine Aussie hair products out there - the Fudge brand, for example - but "Aussie" shampoo is not one of them. :(

Speaking for myself, I use and recommend Fudge. It is Australian-made and owned; even the parent company (Sabre Group Limited) is an Aussie one, based in Dee Why (NSW.)

However, I must warn you that it is not cheap...

Well, I got a 'tried to deliver' notice last week and then couldn't sleep all night as I knew my renewed Aussie passport was sitting at the collection centre.

Then I got to work and showed everyone my passport and they were all like 'Big deal....you're an Aussie...we already know that!' and so I was reduced to sneaking a look at it, when no one else was looking :o

My flights are booked, my hotel in Singapore is booked, I am seeing Robbie in Perth 2 nights running - now we just have the final detail which is the OH's spousal visa to contend with.....

Haven't even got the police clearance back yet.... :scared: Do I look worried, I'm not worried....ok....maybe a little worried.....

I'm off to have another drink.....

Once again Vash you astound me with your knowledge - where do you store it all :D
I've always wondered why you can't buy the aussie shampoo out in oz - now I know why. it's good stuff, but will try this fudge one when i'm out there - is it only expensive here or in oz too. :p

Heh, thanks. :o

If you'll pardon the generalisation, a good patriotic Aussie usually has a nose for so-called "Australian" products - and this one just didn't smell right. I remembered seeing it on the shelves when the missus and I were doing the weekly shop 'way back late last year some time, and even a cursory examination told me that it wasn't a kosher Aussie shampoo.

Genuine Australian-made products have to be labelled accordingly, but this one wasn't. I also noticed the lack of any import references (ie. "Distributed in the UK by...") which pretty much told me all I needed to know about its origins.

It's relatively expensive Down Under as well - but no more so than any comparable brand, and worth every dollar IMHO.

Of course, there are plenty of alternative Aussie-made shampoos in Australia as well, so you could have a look around and find one that works for you. I've always found that products containing tea-tree oil are good 'uns. :)
