Am I mad!
 

Hi
I am a Nurse from Derby strongly considering a new life for myself and 4 year old son. Am looking at Brisbane/Gold coast or Adelaide and would really appreciate all the info and advice you can give. It is such a big step for the two of us so need your advice!!!

Hi Super Mum, welcome to BE:D I'm also a single mum (nurse) looking to emigrate (Oz or NZ), so your not alone! You'll get loads advice & support from this site - there are some great people on here;)

If you have found this site and posted on it then YEP that makes you mad :eeg: There are lots of single parents who have gone it alone and who are doing well Go for it. :thumbsup: and I wish you all the best and also welcome to B.E this is the best place to ask ask any questions and the best advice but be aware its ADDICTIVE ;) welcome aboard

I have no advice to give, except do not trust any piece of advice that you receive from me:D

I wish you all the luck in the world though, and am sure that if you decide to go for it Australia will live up to expectations. This is a wonderful site that offers both practical advice and a shoulder to cry on when needed. I have made so many good freinds here and am sure that you will too.

Hi, i havent got any advice on going it alone..

You have probably come to the right place to meet people, we are moving to WA in a few months...hopefully. Im not a single parent but we have made some really good friends on here that we are going to meet up with when we go.

Good luck and im sure you will be fine and love it, you certainly are a supermum cos i wouldnt have the guts to go it alone so whole heartedly i take my hat of you single parents who do..total respect. :thumbsup:

No mother is mad for wanting a better life, especially when they're single.

Check out the nursing forum.

Plenty of people here have done what you're thinking about so it's by no means unobtainable. :)

Good luck and let us know if you have any quesitons you need help with. The immigration forum is the place to ask about visa's once you're in the application process. There are some very experienced people who hang out there and can help.

Brisbane/Gold coast has become expensive, Adelaide is still cheaper so might be a better option if you want your own place. Never been to the place though.

Hi, welcome to BE. I am a single mum to, moving to Perth with my two teenagers. There are times when i think i am mad but i have never been one to go for the easy options in life. Feel free to PM me and ask any questions. Good luck with everything:thumbsup:

Another mad single mum here too!

Difference is I dont have the visa worries as i have australian citizenship and so do the kids.

I still have the same worries though - finding a job, not having enough money to go with and trying to find another £5k to fund the move... still have the same 'where the heck shall i go to' worries.

So yeah - join the club - theres a good single parents thread somewhere.
