Do you need 4 wheel drive? Toyota Klugar is good.(203 listed in Perth)

If no 4WD Honda Odyssey is a good suggestion. (27 listed in Perth) http://www.carsales.com.au/car/bncis....5&sort=~Price

Dont know your budget?..... But don't get tempted with an 'older' Kia Carnival (engines are terrible). Also the Holden Zafiras can be troublesome. They have an oil supply issue to the engine timing chain, which is expensive to fix.

My Magna wagon is an 8 seater. I had the rear row of 3 seats installed aftermarket. Only suitable for children though.

Our Landcruiser 200 is 8 seats - and big enough for standard sized adult in the third row. Plus proper seats. As others said though, budget and use will make a huge difference.

How much 'older' Kia. Found an '07 carnival in budget so had they sorted the problems out by then or not.

Product Review 2007 Kia Carnival
http://www.productreview.com.au/p/ki...present/4.html
Here's some quotes regarding the earlier models.....
AUSTRALIA’S most popular people-mover, the Kia Carnival, has struck engine trouble.
Kia Automotive Australia has confirmed that around 40 per cent of all Carnivals sold in Australia between the seven-seat wagon’s September 1999 release date and March 2002 have suffered engine failure.
With 7208 vehicles sold in that period, according to official VFACTS figures, the number of affected Carnivals could be higher than 3000.

Sorry just seen this.
The Kluger was big enough to fit all the kids gear in (instruments, school bags, ballet bags etc) and have a couple of friends along for the ride, but handled like a sedan and was really comfy to drive. The Landcruiser had better handleability than I expected but was still a big beast with loads of blind spots (especially driving around little kids and at school pickup). The cruiser was better for bush bashing and beach driving, but the majority of driving I do is city.

I had a 2009 Kia Carnival (bought new) which I sold in January this year. I had no problems at all and it was great for piling lots of kids in (or relatives when we had visitors from the UK). My oldest even borrowed it to drive a a group of mates and all their gear down to the Gold Coast for as few days. And with the seats removed, it was useful for moving quite bulky items, so it had many uses.
With only one child left at home I don't really need an 8 seater any more, so I decided it was time to let it go, but if I had needed such a large vehicle I wouldn't have hesitated in getting another one.
