7 interviewees for ONE post

On orders from my boss I am interviewing 7 interviewees tomorrow for ONE post....

Its going to take all bloody day... like I have NOTHING else to do....

And there are going to be 6 people disappointed at the end of it...

total overkill IMHO... But I'm acting under orders....

Not like I need interviewing experience, I used to work in HR/ personnel & training...

Have been through the CVs with a fine tooth comb and tbh there are 3 I wouldnt have even bothered with...

but orders is orders so here we go...

I HATE wasting my time AND other peoples too... A shortlist of 4 would have been plenty based on qualifications and experience...

Wish I could warn them that I havent slept all night so they may be in for a rough time.....

And if I prefer the well qualified POM who's applied, but get overuled because I'm "biased" again I'll spit bloody fire tomorrow...

Is there more behind it though? We had a job recently where 7 people were interviewed, I was one of them. Turned out 5 weeks later that the reason they interviewed 7 of us was because they knew there were two more temporary positions coming up due to maternity leave/acting stuff that could be filled from the merit list from that first round of interviews - just guessing, but maybe there's a bigger picture?

Just following orders...

Best tits? I reckon the worst ones would be the kindest, we do plastics and mates rates for staff who have been here long enough...

7s kind of perfect to fill a day. I bet she was thinking - oh we'll do interviews tomorrow, how many can we do - 7 - let 7 be our selection number.

Sounds like my logic when I am very busy/stressed and cant get my mind over the detail that I am not actually dealing with,

So did you get the Englishone?
