3 explosions at Boston Marathon

Re: 3 explosions at Boston Marathon
Well this is going to get interesting, if true.
Police scanner reports two names for the bomber suspects, as the two individuals who have been shooting up MIT recently. Both are reported to have been held, and one of them is reported to be the individual fingered by reddit as the person who has been 'missing' for the past month.

Looks like a case of the needle in a haystack but hopefully justice, technology and a bullet or two will prevail

I think they have just taken him alive, which is good as the authorities should be able to interrogate him to find out what happened, why, who else involved etc...

However, it's also questionable about if they will get much in the way of justification.
Also interesting, they refused to read him his rights, claiming national security exception. That's not a good precedent - there will be talk of them torturing and denying constitutional rights. Dumb.

Well, he might survive, sounds like he's in a bad way.

It's a dumb, unforced error.
Why would you attempt to deny him the right to silence and the right to a lawyer? If he doesn't want to talk, what are you going to do? Unfortunately the assumption will be made that they want to torture him (since they have track record) and attempt to deny him a fair trial.
So from being a murderous, criminal f**kwit, you just gave him a shield of righteousness, particularly in the islamic world. So you bolster the terrorist's cause.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Trial by police and politicians is what these monkeys are fighting for. Why give them the pleasure?

Because that is what happens in the sort of systems we reject. We have human rights and a legal system to prevent the excesses of a state that terrorists seek to have. Much better to stagnate in jail than have another "martyr" to cheer on. I doubt they will be popular in jail. If not held in solitary he would be holding on to that bar of soap.

Thei first priority was to give him first aid and it was probably clear that he was not a threat - well apart from detonating body explosives.
A message to the people out there - you will be caught cos your photo will be around social media etc...it beggers belief almost...the imagery we have - of course people complain about their rights. It seems to me that if you are law abiding you have nothing to fear from being filmed.
and furthermore, from a Londoner to a US citizen - when one someone puts down a backpack and walks away - you do something about it.
I remember tossing an unattended bag out of a tube train when noone claimed it...well they didn't claim it after a few repeated calls....
luckily they followed their bag out to claim it....

The only rights he has is to be water-boarded and have a pressure cooker stuck up his arse.
