14 days quarantine

I’ve just been reading the information around the requirement to quarantine for 14 days, which would
cost us over 5000 Aud.

i understand why it’s done but am thinking of 14 days in a hotel room with my family! we had to isolate over Christmas because my daughter and I caught COVID-19, but it was no bother as everyone was occupied within their own space. A room is another thing! It could break us before we even find a rental!

Spare a thought for those going to Hong Kong. They need to hotel quarrentine for 21 days at their own expense.

If you want to get in you just have to suck it up.

Im facing the same thing Gray. Trying to decide if we can stay in the Uk for slightly longer and hope the situation with the borders change. I.e quarantine at home.

Australia's inbred and political NIMBY mindset probably won't see this change for quite a while. The good news is the UK's high vaccine roll out, and summer reducing numbers may put the UK higher in the list of Australia's preferred bubble countries.

I agree with Beoz on this one. If you are waiting for the border rules to relax here you could be waiting a long time, eg months or even years, not weeks.
