They are both made in Europe - I think it's Belgium (Edit: Focus in Australasia is made in SA or Germany). The Focus is a great car.
I wouldn't buy one though.

Planing on spending 25k to 30k on a new car from a dealer on the Gold Coast.
What car would you have?
Best customer service?
Least depreciation?
I've a few mind- Toyota Rav4
Mazda 3
Nissan Dualis
Toyota Corlla Levin
Mitsubishi Lancer
Hyundai i30 or Tuscan
Kia sportage
Suzuki Vitara or SX4
Any thoughts guys?

I really like the look of the new Lancer and would certainly give it a go it looks like you can pick up the top of the range for circa $30k. I'm also a big fan of the Focus and that would be in a similar price range.

I think the XR5 comes from Germany....the rest are all made in South Africa. It's actually really well put together, the only thing I would pick it up on is that some of the cabin plastics are not the best quality.
It was also pretty darn easy to talk the dealer into a $4k discount - ended up about $25k with window tint and all the dealer / govt charges.

Very good compromise car. As most of the daily driving is as normal to/from work but it goes off road to the places I want to go fishing.
Quite capable of driving on the beach as well.
Low ground clearance is a bit of a problem so there are places wher it won't go.
Power to weight ratio siginficantly better than real 4WD cars.

I got a Focus 2.0LX at the start of this year. It's a great car.

Not on your list but we have a Honda CRV and absolutely love it
Did look at the Rav 4's but we were in the secondhand market and they didnt seem to have much more boot / rear seat space than my Terios...
