$1m - what do you do with it ?
Daydream time. You go out and buy on impulse a lotto ticket and win $1,000,000 tonight. What do you do with it ?
It's not a vast sum of money but the interest gets you about $60,000 a year which is nice so I guess I would probably just invest it and keep it liquid for the time being as I fortunately own my own home.
Unless the AUD exchange rates gets really good at which point I could be easily persuaded to leave Australia for the US.
Anyone got any other interesting ideas ? Yes, I'm bored this afternoon

Go out and buy a great big turnip in the country.
Go straight to Hawaii.

Far too short. I left home with a change of clothes and came home with 2 full suitcases weighing 22 & 19 kg and nearly 10 kg of carry on. London was too good for words and of course seeing my mum and the rest of my family was good. Not to mention the fab tan from snorkelling with the sea turtles in a secluded cove off the northern tip of Oahu. Hawaii is now my favourite place on earth. It is going to be my life's mission to retire there.

I'd buy a house with it. Then go on a great holiday, first class. Then probably just get on with my life as normal. $1m is not enough to retire on.
