does anybody make cheese from their milk?
I only saw imported american cheddar in the supermarkets last month - where can local mutton/lamb be bought and is there are an island sheep cheese industry?

While there is American Cheese in the Supermarket, for the better part of the last 21years I've lived here, it's mostly been Anchor cheese from NewZealand. The different cheeses you see and some gourmet varieties have only been brought into the island in the last few years.
There are people selling local goats milk, but not sure anyone is doing cheeses.. although having said that.. I've seen some local attempts at thinks like dairy items.. but.. they are usually about twice as expense of the imported items, which are expense to begin with.. good be it's just not economical to produce locally.. and that certainly wouldn't surprise me..
