Watch your gas....!
 

Hello All,

I thought I would let you know about a conversation I had with a lady who worked as a Gas Attendant. She told me that some of her fellow workers had a method of appearing to provide the required amount of gas, to the value stipulated by the driver, but actually put in less gas and pocket the difference.

Since this time I've kept a careful watch on the attendants. I have to admit, I haven't actually witnessed anything unusual however two weeks ago, I obtained gas from the Texaco Station in The Hastings vicinity, and when I checked my gas gage, it was clear that only about half the amount I paid for was in the tank.

On speaking to a few other people, it seems to be common knowledge that this happens.

I've now taken to the good old fashioned method of The UK and pump my own gas at Esso. Incidentally, when you use the Esso self service, you also qualify for double Magna Points so a little effort goes a long way!!

That is very true it has happened to me on several occasions. I have Shell Card now so I think that should alleviate the problem, but yes this is very common.
