I wasn't aware of this but it was a pleasant surprise-- PriceSmart honors manufacturers warranties on their computers, TV's, appliances, etc. For those who don't know, most major appliances sold here are not covered by manufacturer's warranties so you end up with what Court's offers SuperShield...PriceSmart doesn't offer an extended warranty though.

I was never a big believer in extended warranties for appliances, mainly because appliances come so cheaply in the US, but after we had our washer, dryer and stove break down at the same time for various reasons it was well worth it-- each one would have been $175-200 for repairs.

Anyway, I had shied away from appliances at Price Smart but I am reconsidering.
