status enquiry
Hi everyone!
I am living and working (work permit ) in barbados and am due to have a baby soon. I was wondering if anyone knew if being the mother of a bajan child (his father is barbadian) will give me options for any other status other than renewing my work permit.
Thanks for any feedback!

I don't think so... only if you're married. Otherwise, you'll have to continue the work permit route.
Unfortunately there aren't many other options.
Good luck,
Foxy

Are you thinking of getting married??? that would eliminate the need for your work permit. I know of a case of the mother of a bajan child being told she'd got 30days to leave Barbados because she didn't have status. I would ask some questions with your Human Resources Dept. as to your job situation

If you did get married you would have to wait at least 3 years to get your citizenship papers so you would still need a work permit in the meantime...
