standing order banking issues
 

Can anyone tell me how the banks operate over there. Got a joint bank account with my dad, his uk pension is now going direct into account. Noticed that it went in as so 4 of april still has not cleared. The post was taking so long for his pension check to arrive.Thought it would be easier direct debit thought it would of taken about 3 days to clear. Teller told international checks take 6 weeks to clear this turn out to be 14 days to clear contacted private pension company and explained everything is so long winded.

can't help with that type of standing order, but can tell you that it takes 3 days for a local check written on another bank check to actually be credited to my account.. (ie.. Royal Bank of Canada check, deposited on my CIBC/First Caribbean Bank on Monday, doesn't actually become available to me until maybe Thursday.. so no telling how long this actually takes if being send from the UK..
