Me and my husband to be are getting married in Aug this year in Barbados, I am from Scotland and he is from Barbados we are looking for some information concerning spouse visas, eg prices, time to wait and documentation i need to take with me, We are both looking to live in scotland after we get granted as i have my own salon and is difficult for me to move at the moment any info would be much appriciated i have tried to phone many places but cant find much out from this end and also does anyone think this would be a prob for him to get granted the visa??

Thank You all in advance

Re: Spouse Visa Advice

Do you mean a visa for him to reside in Scotland?

you will need to ask the government from your end.. not in Barbados. Does he need a visa for scotland?? does he need one to live there.. what does he need to work there?? etc.. While he is Bajan, those questions have to be answered from your end not the Barbados end.

Good luck.

Re: Spouse Visa Advice

You can find out all the information you need on www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk, it outlines the cost and all the documentation that you will need to supply e.g your salary, your accommodation and proof you are able to support the person as they are not entitled to public fund e.g benefits. When I got married in April you had to go through the British High Commission in Barbados, however, I have been told that this has now changed and the paperwork now goes to America, I am not sure why. The process does not take long (in fact from submitting the paperwork to my husband getting his visa was 2 weeks). However, everyones circumstances are different.

I hope this helps.
