Default setting up a business/self employed in BGI

Hi my wife and I are planning our 'retirement', and would live it to be in Barbados. Basically when Im around 60, and the wife is 52, the mortgage will be paid off and we will move to the sun.
To live in comfort in barbados we would however need some sort of income.
We are thinking of either buting a small B&B( less than 5 rooms), or buy 2 apartments and rent one out.
Questions are:
1) what is current house price inflation in Barbados?
2) Can I open a business employing just ourselves and perhaps a part time local maid, or do I have to employ more local staff under law?
3) If I have an apartment I rent out and just get paid into a UK bank account could I avoid local(or any!) Income tax?
4) what is the price of medical insurance on the Island? Or is this supplied free to anybody retired on the Island
5) rather than keep renewing my passport stamp every month is their any sort of residencey register(as you do in spain).

Thanks for your help
Rob
