scan for mums-to-be - question for those who had babies in BB...
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to ask if you can recommend a place where I could have my cervix checked by doing the transvaginal scan.
I'm 19 weeks now and my cervix hasn't been checked once. I know they don't do it here routinely, but my sister had a problem with shortened cervix and I don't want to go through the same - or if I do, I want to make sure I do everything to keep the baby (and to do it, I need to have it checked!!!). My ob/gyn said to me that even though I had some spotting a weeks ago there is no need to check my cervix if the spotting stopped. I think otherwise - it's better to check it as it only takes a couple of minutes, than risk losing the baby.
Any suggestions anyone? I'm not sure if it makes sense to go to a different ob/gyn - I dare say the policy will be the same wherever I go. I just want a good, reliable imaging centre where I can go without the doctor's refferal...

panic over :)
called my doc today - told him again how I feel and what my symptoms are. he asked me to come at once, did the scan, checked the cervix, all is good

thanks shines
i know you (and other people who read this thread) probably think I'm one of those crazy, panicky, hypochondriac people. but i'm not, really - it's not about my health after all, it's the baby...
and i waited for him/her for so long... it means so much to me... so i guess a little panic is better than a little neglect
