Anyone know what is happening to Red Jet and why the government have shut it down?

I don't think the government shut them down.. they shut themselves down.. lack of funds, and then the government took away their license to operate.. cause they didn't have any money.. Am I reading that wrong?? anybody else care to elaborate...

If it was lack of funds, and I am sure with the local backers involved that wasnt the case, it would only be the funds that the government promised Red Jet that wasnt forthcoming that forced the issue.

I do agree that with the local backers funding shouldn't have been an issue, and also the connection with Digicel, but I'm not aware that Government ever offered any funding for them or promised them in any way any funds. many people are blaming "the business model" of running it for a year and assessing the viability of it after that.
they also aren't currently getting what they would really like which IS government backing.. and as a citizen who's retirement money seems to now be sinking into real estate development for the rich and famous to who knows what else.. I'm not impressed...
