Default The Prime Minister of Barbados has passed away

The Honorable David Thompson, Prime Minister of Barbados and leader of the Democratic Labour Party, age 48 passed away this morning at 2:10am after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. You can view the information at www.nationnews.com (although this morning it's very slow in coming up or not at all.. be patient. There are stories of his life his politics etc.). I would imagine that at sometime in the next week or two there will be a national day of mourning and a state funeral.

Yes, so I heard. His wife was St lucian and they have 3 children.
Tragic. May his soul rest in peace.

http://www.nationnews.com/articles/v...rvice-at-oval/

please see the info in the article. Wednesday, November 3rd, at 9:30am, Kensington Oval for the Funeral, burial at St. Johns Parish church.

The island, I would imagine, will be on pretty much of an all stop or go slow on Wednesday morning. business not due to open until 1pm that day.. so plan your business and day accordingly.
