Meeting expats in Barbados
Greetings all,
We are in Barbados (Speightstown) on holiday, going back to Europe on the 7th May.
It is our intention to eventually retire here when our working days come to an end.
Do you have any information regarding expat meetings, functions, events, etc.
We look forward hearing from you soon.

sorry that no one has responded. there are several things you can do.
Hash House Harriers , if you are familiar with them.. (I drinking group with a running problem... or is that a running group with a drinking problem!?!?!) .. they meet on Saturdays.
British Women's Club of Barbados. Great Group of women who meet once a month, have socials and fundraisers for various charities.
Golf, Tennis, scuba.. etc..
Trivia nights at Barbados.. Barbados Cruising Club is one.. there are others.
Re the moving to Barbados. might want to start looking into what it takes to retire here.. Not an easy thing.. you can't just come and live.. Good Luck and Enjoy.

Definitely a drinking club with a running problem......every Saturday at 4pm and Bank Holidays at 10am.
Quiz at the Barbados Cruising Club is at 8pm on Wednesdays, at 7.30pm at the Yacht Club or at 7.30pm (I think) at Rockley.

It is an interesting topic, many people visit the caribbean and decide they would like to live there. Does the OP have a connection with barbados that guarantees admission, because if they dont - effectively you arent wanted unless you bring a lot of cash. This is the situation in most caribbean countries.
Its also true that while having expat friends is a great thing, being a part of your local community is often more interesting / fun, if they accept you. Here its very laid back mostly, but i understand from bajan colleagues that barbados does have some divisions based on mutual prejudices.
Being on holiday is also vastly different to emigrating of course. You have to live for extended period somewhere, [a year?] to really decide if its for you, so dont jump into financial commitments too quickly.
