Looking for a Teaching job in Barbados
Hello,
I am a Secondary School Science Teacher with 17 years teaching experience in the U.K. and am looking to teach in Barbados for a few years while my wife and I oversee the resolution of some property issues/ building restoration. Does any one have any advice as to which Schools would be the best for me to consider applying to, considering that we we be living either in or near the Parish of St. Philip.

HI Grantley.. You could apply to some of the secondary schools, however, you still need to have a work permit, unless you have Barbados Citizenship or other documentation to work here.
there are a few secondary schools in the St. Philip area, but if you go with a government school, you don't technically have a choice as to where you may be posted (unless you are in a principles position).
I'd suggest contacting the Ministry of Education (phone them don't e-mail).. and see where this takes you.
Good Luck,

Thanks for your advice, I will ring them as I have e-mailed them a couple of times and had no response.

Barbados does not respond well to emails - just a point for the future

Dipity, that is a fairly sweeping statement and cannot be said in general but it is unfortunate that government offices really don't seem to have any need for e-mail. As I recommended to the OP, phoning in this case is a better option.
