Default Lawyers in Barbados

Hi, is it only me. I have a Land Dispute case going on from 2009 with 5 lawyers in attendance and not one can conclude the case. The amount of money spent has been colossol and I cannot believe that judicial system in Barbados is so WRONG.

Please let me know if you have had a bad experience concerning lawyers in Barbados.

All I can say is good luck. Our small condo block is in it's 11th or 12th year in Court with the neighbouring Hotel owner who chose to build his Hotel on part of our garden and half our parking when all the condo owners were absent. We finally have one of the best Q C's on the Island, after wasting a fortune with our original Attorney who did nothing , but even he fails to make headway against this crook and his crooked Q C .
And YES, it is so WRONG ! Good luck but don't hold your breath.

Thanks for your input. You are paying for a service and they just put your file down to gather dust. There will be years gone by and nothing done. I have actually gone behind the lawyers back and checked on documents that she has claimed that are being processed and the relevant departments are not even aware of it. They are most cruel to the anyone overseas, " out of sight out of mind"

it's an unfortunate fact in Barbados as said.. and it's local and yes.. sight unseen makes it easier.. I have understood that the law courts are trying to "get things in order" but I don't believe that.. and I'll ask.. are you on them all the time about it?? do you require they give you a report . . an update.. something..?? I'm sure you do.. but. .it's not now and likely never will be easy in Barbados..
