Default information on moving to barbados

hi im 27 male from england looking for information on work, visas for babados. my background is hospitality and ive been working as an english teacher for 3 years in cambodia. Whats the chances of picking up work? Also i have a one way flight booked and i know i need to get an onward flight but can i get a onward boat ticket instead. Also can i set up my own business if need be? I visited 6 years ago and i fell i love with the place. Would love a chance to live and work there for a while.

Everyone wants to just drop in and live and work in Barbados, but this is just not possible. Barbados is a small island with limited openings and unless you have specific skills which they are lacking or have a lot of money to open a business then it may just have to remain a dream. As well as local Bajans you also now have to compete with the wider Caricom community consisting of people from the different Caribbean islands who are a member of Caricom. Read more of the ins and outs as suggested and maybe try sounding immigration out for yourself.

Mr moar welcome to the forum. I wish you well in your endeavors. But believe me, you will be extremely lucky if it happens. Be prepared to spend months if not years, and lots of money. There are easier places in the world to get into.

Come for a holiday, enjoy, and then go back to the real world!

Pgtips has it right.

It is now getting difficult to even retire here now!!
