for all of you Expats on the island in January. .check out the 3rd edition of The Barbados Independent Film Festival to take place form the 11th to 20th of Jan. Barbados Independent Film Festival – Third Edition

We have a great line of of films, with this years theme being Music. while not all, Many of our Films have musical themes and with that some great music to be heard in the film and from our own music makers on the island. We even have a couple of surprises where that's concerned..

The Walled Garden Theatre at the Barbados Museum is the main venue for the screenings with 2 days of events being held at Copacabana Beach Club as well at shows at Limegrove Cinema and our popular, and Free the the Public, closing night Shorts on the Beach at Southern Palms hotel.

Workshops are also being offered as well. Anyone a budding Screen Writer?? we have Lone Scherfig, from Denmark (director of "One Day" and Their Finest") on hand to do a 4 day Screenwriting intensive workshop. (contact me directly for more info on that). plus 3 more 1 day workshops being offered (check the schedule on the website)

We will also be debuting our Collaboration Grant Short Film entitled "Island Gold: The Story of Rum in Barbados" ..

Lots to see and do in those 10days in January.. .. (Films are shown in the evening. .so you have plenty of time to do the beach, the sand the sun and touring during the day!!!).

and if you read all the way through. I'm telling you. .we have an awesome film star coming for our festival. Can't tell you who it is yet.. but it will be pretty cool!!!

HOLLYWOOD ICON SIGOURNEY WEAVER TO RECEIVE AWARD AT BIFF 2019

Bridgetown, Barbados, WI – The 3rd Annual Barbados Independent Film Festival (BIFF) has
announced the attendance of award-winning, Hollywood superstar Sigourney Weaver.
A Cinema Under the Stars Tribute to Sigourney Weaver will feature a presentation of the
“Founders Award as an Icon in the Performing Arts” to Ms. Weaver and a screening of her
personally selected film A MAP OF THE WORLD.
The evening will take place on Saturday, January 12, at 7:00pm with Ms. Weaver walking the
red carpet into the Walled Garden Theatre. A conversation and reception with Ms. Weaver will
