Expats already in Barbados
Morning everyone,
OK just a quick question, when the time came to leave and move did you find it hard?
I leave next week and even though I am sure I will love my new life I am really finding it hard to think about leaving this one behind... I'm hoping this is normal and once I am there any doubts and worries will melt away...
Leaving my friends is so upsetting, and I know even though we have msn and webcams it'll be a lot easier. Also my 2 yr old will really miss her friends and I feel guilty for that and taking her away from her daddy...
Anyway am I normal or should I not be having these doubts? (Maybe being 20wks pg and full of hormones don't help too much either )
Just looking for reassurance...
Thanks,
Shines

Thank you so much... I was sure it was normal but sometimes you lose sight of things. I was so excited about it all until the last month or so and then the doubts have started to creep in...
I have decided to tell myself, in my mind, that I am going to give it a year to see how things settle down and I am sure by then I will have no thought of returning to the UK!
When do you arrive, where are you going to be staying?
Thanks again

Hi shines,
we will move to Barbados probably this summer or latest in January, and I can tell you - donĀ“t worry, it is normal to think like you sometimes. But you will see, once you settled down you will be so happy to be there and to have done this step!!!
I will be in BB for 3 weeks in July, so if you want to meet......???

I feel that way all of the time-- but once I find myself driving around in BB with my husband I feel at home, I love it. So yes I am scared but it will be totally worth it.
PS My son will be 2 in July and needs lots of playmates!

Would be so great to meet you all there, seems that there will be a big "BE"-crowd living there soon
My daughter will be 11 in October, but she loves to be with small children, she is like a "nanny" once she has the chance to be with babies or smaller kids...;

I will also be in Barbados mid July if anyone fancies meeting up. I have a home in Christ Church - unfortunately not able to live there full time due to family commitments, but spend my time going back and forth for now.
