Barbados Association of Professional Engineers.. there are many ... Not sure what type of engineering you are qualified in but we have.. pretty much them all.. telecommunications, mechanical, structural, civil, computer systems, civil etc.. The University of the West Indies has a faculty in Engineering at the 2 of their three campuses (Mona - in Jamaica and St. Augustine in Trinidad) and there are Barbadians that do go to US/UK and Canadian universities to study their chosen Engineering field and return home..

So.. Not to burst your bubble.. but .. to work here you need to have a work permit and would have to really be able to prove that you have something that someone in Barbados doesn't have to be able to get that..

my husband is a Telecommunications/Computer systems Engineer and his brother is Electronic and telecommunications.

Re: Engineering in Barbados?

Thank you for your kind response. I am 20 years experienced Mechanical Engineer. Time served in the UK, with many years manual machining (very experienced on lathes, milling machines, both manual and cnc, with Cad/cam skills too). I have spent the last 10years in a design department working as a project engineer utilising many different CAD packages, and have spent the last 3 years project managing engineering projects in the UK and across Europe for very big companies.
Who would I send my cv/resume to for good exposure to increase my chances of interest from Barbados companies? I am in Barbados the last week of August. (I visit as often as possible and I am fully aware of the difficulties of immigration to the island). Any experience of improving my chances of creating opportunity would be fabulous and very much appreciated.

You can try to contact a member of the BAPE, but as I said.. any company hire would have to hire you specifically on the grounds of no one else in Barbados having your qualifications..

you can try looking at the Barbados Yellow pages online for companies that may require your services.. and take your chances..
