Degrees a Pre-requisite????

Degrees a Pre-requisite????
Came back from Barbados last week after 4 weeks. Jeez it's hard getting back into the groove back in good old blighty!
Anyway, whilst there I had a couple of Job Interviews which went extremely well and I am feeling positive (you have to). One of the comments came out though that usually it is a pre-requisite for an applicant to have a degree or difficulties may arise when applying for the work permit (from the employer).
Does anyone have any knowledge of what the Immigration Dept stipulates? I will mail them direct but I am sure I will get a bog standard reply.
What is a bind is that I only have 2 years to go to complete my degree, but 2 yrs is too long......
Any info is gladly received.
