Church?
 

Hi, All -
My husband, young children and I are moving to Barbados soon. We are very keen to get involved in the life of a local Christian church. I haven't had much luck searching church websites. Does anyone have any recommendations? We're willing to go anywhere on the island.

I'd also be interested in finding a good Anglican service (C of E), which is less than 2 hours long ;)

St. Matthias Church is Anglican. It's in Hastings - I can give you further directions if that's the area you like.

Their early service is only about an hour and a half - I live near there so I hear them every Sunday. Starts around 7am.

Thanks Foxy, an hour and a half sounds good but 7 am in Hastings is a bit early for me (I'm west coast), maybe good for bakergirl though.

Haha, fair enough. They do another service around 9am, but that's the one that is over 2 hours. Usually they're still inside at 11:30am! :ohmy:

Sounds simple, but did you check the phone book? I am still getting used to checking the phone book for things instead of the internet. Barbados doesn't quite use the net in the way some of us are used to, so sometimes it's easier to go old school and use the phone book.

As Barbados is a heavily-Anglican country you will not have a problem finding a church home.

I'd suggest visiting the various congregations on the island to find the one that fits you best.
