Hi all I am hoping to return to Barbados in the summer and

would like to secure work before I arrive.

I am currently in the UK, an Ofsted registered self employed childcare

provider.

I have 25 years child/social care experience

working with children young people and adults In various

settings.

I have experience of working with people with

special needs, special educational needs, medical needs,

mental health problems and challenging behavior.

I have;


A current UK CRB,

Pediatric First Aid Certificate,

Safeguarding Children and Young People level 1 & 2,

Food Safety and Hygiene level 1 & 2,

Childminder Training Certificate,

Diploma in Social Care,

A full, clean driving license ,

Checkable work history and References.

I am a Barbadian citizen and passport holder so need no permit But would

appreciate any advice given or ideas where to look for work

that's an impressive resume.. I think you need to be a bit more specific as to what type of work you want to deal with.. School Setting (and if so, age specific) . In home care.. working at a day care etc... There are limited facilities for children with special needs.. but there is actually a new one opening up next year, I believe.(funded by the Sandy Lane Charitable Trust.. Don't have any info on how to contact them regarding placement..)

Be prepared for a low salary to start (have no idea what that would be as I don't work in that field and I say that as starting salaries aren't great around here..)
