Best bank
 

Which is the best bank in Barbados? I really need a bank that will offer a visa debit card, as well as, easy to acquire a credit card. Thanks!!

CIBC FirstCaribbean - only because I work for them, otherwise do your homework, plenty on this forum about banking, and Google will tell you what each of the Banks offers. You should be able to get a debit card, but if you are new to the island the only way of getting a credit card is if you have a cash trap for your line of credit (i.e. $1,000 locked in savings for a $1,000 credit on a credit card), you need to be here at least 12 months before bank will consider giving you an overdraft or unsecured lending facility.

I bank at First Caribbean.. but honestly only because I've been there since it was Barclays, when I first moved to Barbados 21 years ago.. taken over by CIBC and turned into First Caribbean. Hubby banks with Scotia Bank after banking with Barclays, being a premium client for years and when the bank changed hands screwed up his account 4 times in a month and didn't offer the same premium account facility.. he moved..

do your homework because each persons response is going to be different. and what each one can offer you will be based on your needs alone
