Artists in Barbados
Hi
Some countries have concessions for artists and other creative practitioners in order to encourage cultural business. Does anyone know how this works in Barbados?
I will be in Barbados for at least 2 months in summer and will be producing a series of paintings. I want to know:
A. will I be able to do this without a work permit?
B. will I be able to sell them if someone wants to buy?
C. Can I send the pictures home without export complications?
Any advice and tips welcome.

hummmmm.. interesting questions..
Can't really answer this question except to say..
1. you will likely be given only 28days when you arrive.. but based on your ticket and the questions that are asked you might get the full 2 months.
2. You don't need a work permit to paint, to my knowledge (but one never knows here).
3. should have a problem, regarding selling them, if you can find someone to purchase.. do you have a studio to use, painting from a hotel room?? or have you talked with locals who are artist who can assist with introductions?? just checking.
4. and I would guess that as long as you are willing to pay the cost, sending them out shouldn't be a problem either..
I'm just a wealth of confirmed answers I know.. but thought you might like at least one response...
My husband's nephew, who is from New Zealand, but has Barbados Citizenship, was here for about 5 months (left in Mid April to go back to London) or so, painting, getting ideas, trying to sell his art.. was able to get a few commissioned pieces, sold a few others, but not as much as he had hoped...
