Been on the island for 4 months now and overall loving our new life.

The thing we miss most is going for long walks with the kids as the heat obviously makes this more challenging.

Here's where we've found so far:

• Barclays park beach (fab breeze in the afternoon)
• Hastings boardwalk
• Farley Hill

Any other suggestions?

I think this really boils down to the time of day! Recently my son and I went on a walk with Future Centre through Blackmans Gully-- the walk started off at 7:00am and the gully is thick, by about 9:00 am even with all of the shade and a decent country breeze we were HOT!

Try:

• Bath Beach
• Carlyle Bay
• Brandons Beach

Hi,

I would suggest contact the group called Hike Barbados.
They do really nice walks all different locations on the island.
Starts early though...Sunday mornings at 6 a.m.

From the Animal Flower Cave over to River Bay along the cliff tops.

Head east from the cave and go early morning or late evening. There is no shade but normally a lovely breeze (the last 3 days aside) Not sure how old your children are, it is quite a rocky walk...

Look out for a crazy lady runing with a pack of dogs
