Accommodation for 1 month on Barbados
 

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions for accommodations for a 1 month stay on barbados? My husband and I have been searching for a while now but so far not much luck. We are looking for April, 2013.

that's interesting?? I'm sure there are several places that would have accommodations for a month, especially in April. where have you been looking??

if you are looking for a free standing apartment that might be more difficult, however, you could check Homeaway.com and see what you come up with.

We will try there. We actually wanted to rent a house but an apartment is probably a better choice.

there are houses that can be rented by the month, but likely will not be as "cheap" as you would like them to be.. try homeaway.com for the dates you are looking for and see what you come up with.

Hello Kary,

I was in Barbados recently for a month and rented a Villa called Ajoupa. There were a few I was interested in and narrowed this one down from quite a few. The owner lives in the UK I believe but the local contact was "Sooey", a very pleasant and helpful lady.

I liked this one because it was a short walk to the beach, had a pool, had air conditioning in each bedroom as well as the living rooms, short walk to a supermarket as well. They provided a cellphone that you charged up from the digicel website. You have cable TV but no internet, there were a few open wireless signals nearby. They also had a washer/dryer. There is a nice italian restaurant as well, oceanview, very short walk away. I had a car but it was nice to walk for a change.

The pics there do not show you the distance to the beach so it might be a bit misleading. The road leading up to the property is a bit hilly and has locals on both sides. Over the course of the month we became friends with many of them, very nice people. When we first arrived my wife was a bit worried because she expected a gated area but in the end she had more friends in the area that I did. I never felt unsafe and I really liked the locals there. If you have kids, there are a lot of cats around the property and my daughters had fun watching them.
