You will have to get a job BEFORE you travel. The Company who is going to employ you will then have to apply, and pay a lot, for a Work Permit for you. However, I would warn you that Work Permits are usually only issued to foreigners if the employer is unable to find a Bajan who can do the job.

I fear, that without any particular skill, it is unlikely that you will to be able to live and work in Barbados, unless there is an agreement between Barbados and Nigeria I don't know about ?

Also, be aware that if you turn up at Grantley Adams Airport as a tourist and do not have a valid Return ticket to Nigeria you will not be allowed entry.
As a tourist you will likely be given a three month Visa ( depending on how the Custom Officer feels on the day) so your Return ticket should not really exceed three months and you may also be asked to prove that you have enough money to keep you during your stay. You will also have to give the address of your accommodation in Barbados on entry.

If you look through the older posts you will find a thread regarding a Nigerian who was looking for work previous and the feedback that was given then as well
