Its good to finally hear that this has gone public.

Just before election time.

Fernandez talks about his dedication to Ayamonte, regarding his trips to Madrid to reopen the cinema in a month. Just before election time.

Many long term CE residents have have lost trust in the town hall after years of problems including funding problems, lack of focus on CE and overcharging and handling of the EUC and MF money. Etc

Many people in any country, also have experience of pre election promises and hype.

lets see what happens in reality

translation by google:
PROVINCE
The facilities of the Costa Esuri Oeste golf course are closed again
l The measure leaves almost 20 unemployed people on the street and prevents almost 30,000 outings per year l Even though the causes have not been specified everything points to economic reasons
l The measure leaves almost 20 unemployed people on the street and prevents almost 30,000 outings per year l Even though the causes have not been specified everything points to economic reasons

The golf course Costa Esuri Oeste, which reopened its facilities in October 2014 in the hands of Huelva company H2O Integral Services after remaining the previous six months closed by the eviction of its previous managers, returned to the lock after more than a week without irrigation for causes that for the moment are unknown exactly, but that seem to respond fundamentally to economic issues, according to sources close to the ayamontina facility.

In a letter sent this week by Costa Esuri Golf Club to the subscribers of the installation, to which Huelva Information has had access, the captain of the club, Harry Young, reports that this Wednesday he was summoned "without prior notice" to a meeting in which the head of the field told him that it would close its doors on Friday, May 18, which is "bad news for our Club." The letter states that the reasons for the closure pass because the new owners "are not willing to pay the pending bill of water, approximately 70,000 euros" and the existence of a debt of "approximately 2.8 million euros" with the City Council of Ayamonte that "you do not know who is going to pay".
The captain of the field also informs that, although the doors of the field are closed on Friday, it is still going to play on Sunday a previously scheduled championship, although with the field "not officially open", while indicating that, despite the closing, the restaurant, the bar and the store of golf items located in the clubhouse "will probably remain open".

On the other hand, the subscribers are informed that the head of the facility will keep this Monday, May 20, an "open meeting" at 7:30 p.m. in the clubhouse, which can be attended by anyone who wishes and in the that "he will try to answer the questions as best he can". Young concludes the letter apologizing for "not being able to offer more information at this time" to which he adds that "with luck, Monday's meeting will be able to clarify the situation, although it is not possible to predict what will be of our Club in the future. " He concludes by making it clear that "we have survived this before, and I am sure that the spirit and character of Costa Esuri will continue to be as strong as ever, and will help us move forward in the not too distant future."
Sources close to the installation have pointed out Huelva Information that a little more than two months ago the field was acquired "at the price of balance but with a huge debt" by a buyer coming from Córdoba to Martinsa-Fadesa, the promoter of all the complex of Costa Esuri.Dicho buyer, continue the same sources, "initially committed to give an impulse to the field, as well as to finish a hotel that takes years to half build in the vicinity of it, but after a few weeks have elapsed He said he wanted to sell it again and, without knowing exactly why, he cut off the installation's water supply. " The closure of the Costa Esuri golf course leaves almost 20 unemployed people in the street.
For its part, the City of Ayamonte did not want to comment on this matter yesterday, despite the fact that from this wording it was asked for an assessment and more information about it, as a party also directly affected by the situation.
The sector receives the closure with "a notable concern"

With "a lot of concern", but with "some hope" that it is something "transitory", the Huelva golf sector has received the news of the closure of Golf Costa Esuri Oeste. This was stated yesterday to Huelva Information Kostka Horno, president of the Association of Golf Courses of Huelva, for whom the closure of any tourist facility "is not positive." Horno recalled that in the golf segment "we already have a precedent", in reference to the closure of the Matalascañas golf course four years ago, a period of time in which, as he pointed out, the number of these facilities has been reduced in Huelva from eight to six with the closure this Friday of the Ayamontino field. The provincial representative of the golf courses was also very concerned because "it is not the same thing to close a hotel, which is given a facelift before reopening it again, than a golf course, which if not subject to daily maintenance degrades very quickly, and in the course of a few weeks can be practically unusable. " On the other hand stressed that a closure of this type "does not give good image among international tour operators", in addition to indicating that "is not good" for the destination Ayamonte, where two golf courses are going to pass to one, " losing on one hand 50% of its current golf offer, and on the other the almost 30,000 departures recorded this field per year, with what that means in terms of loss of consumption in restaurants and hotel overnight stays ". Finally, Furnace said that this closure will also be detrimental to the fight against the deseasonalization of tourism, since the high season of the golf segment begins once the summer is over

UH OH.... This mess is not a surprise! Thanks Neil77 for the newspaper article, translated.

Ive been concerned for months, as stated several times here, that there had been no official statement about the sale. And I remain totally sceptical till I see workmen/women, heavy earthmoving equipment and the cranes come back etc.

Once again we have conflicting statements.... I don't trust any of this commentary and if its even possible, I am more sceptical.

So finally, we got the official statement. In a TV interview with the politicians. However this is pre-election! Also pre-election we get the 12 point plan for CE. This talks of the hotel sale and also that they will (even) move on the shopping centre and Golf 2. We joked about this being a work of fiction

In reality now the golf course is closed. The captain says this brings into doubt the very sale itself!

Then we get this from the press

Sources close to the installation have pointed out Huelva Information that a little more than two months ago the field was acquired "at the price of balance but with a huge debt" by a buyer coming from Córdoba to Martinsa-Fadesa, the promoter of all the complex of Costa Esuri.Dicho buyer, continue the same sources, "initially committed to give an impulse to the field, as well as to finish a hotel that takes years to half build in the vicinity of it, but after a few weeks have elapsed He said he wanted to sell it again and, without knowing exactly why, he cut off the installation's water supply. .

I don't trust any information I see and so continue to sit on my porch ... and 'await the coming'.... of the cranes! In fact its possible that the 'second coming' will come first

The Mayor is supposed to be holding a meeting at the golf club at 7.00 pm tomorrow.
and wants to "address the community". Anyone who is in ESURI at the moment should try to attend.
I would say it's even money that he cancels at the last minute, but we live in hope.

This has just been posted on the CERA website:-

“The meeting of Saturday 25 at 11 in the morning may was suspended on the future of the golf club, until new information.

While the meeting scheduled for Saturday day 25 was intended only to report the process of selling the assets of martinsa-Fadesa by hydrocarbons, given the proximity of the municipal elections and for the effects that this information could have on The same, this meeting is postponed.”
