Twice had severe upset tummy after a visit there. Also friends who are into cooking their own Indian food said they did not like it as it tasted plastic. All most disappointed by the food.

The best curry for me is in Monte Gordo. I think Ive posted on this thread somewhere.

Nepalese family, very nice, and they cook to order.... So you may have to wait a bit, but you know its freshly cooked. 6 euro lunch menu with a drink..... also other fixed price menu's. Proper tandoori oven.

Walk up the pedestrian road with casino at your back. Pass the 'supermarket' at your right (and cafe portugal on your left..... Good English brekkie w/fresh OJ and they even do pies too!)....

At the pharmacy on your left, turn right and its there in about 20m or so.

Havent tried it but they do a Sunday buffet from 18:00 onwards for a fixed price, I think around 10eur. But I prefer a curry cooked to order

Jon

Ps sorry about the curry house in Ayamonte, they used to own the HUGE curry house in the 'middle of nowhere' in San Bartolomeu....Punjab Palace 2. Where they had a garden with fresh herbs etc and the curries were good. I had mixed experiences with the resto in Ayamonte and stopped going there... Especially when we found the Maharajah Patiala in MG.

Jon, yes, it is on the opposite side of town from the La Holea CC which is on the Ring Road (thanks MikeJ) = Ronda Exterior. I got my opposites in a twist!:D

MikeJ, I'm hoping the mini-Mall you've mentioned is the Aqualon Commercial Centre? I've been there to go to the cinema. There was news a while back about this CC becoming possibly a FOOD HALL. Great deal on the parking, too. 1€ for first 4 hours.

I knew I had read about Huelva's Aqualon Food Hall, El Muelle, recently:
http://www.discoverhuelva.com/news/a...en-on-april-23

It opens tomorrow, hopefully. Situated on the First Floor with views towards the river. The cinema, shops and restaurants/bars currently in operation will remain. Located on the top terrace is a childrens' Pirate themed fun area. There is also the possibility of a fitness gym in September 2014.

Morning All,

sitting at desk in Frankfurt dreaming of home (Esuri) and next visit.

What is the latest on the new CE restaurant. All gone quiet again - is it the usual issues with the authorities, or just not yet finished?

Building works seem complete no vans or skips outside, all looks pristine over the fence. So I guess they could be open but they still await the paperwork from the Town Hall. However apparently the only official who can issue the licence has gone on holiday so we wait.

Re: Restaurants

Just had an excellent lunch at Luis's and was told that last Sunday the buffet had 62 covers. We had pre booked but as ever picked up a few extra on the way and Luis had to squeeze the extra on to our table we ended up as twelve so we had a good time but I would advise booking ahead. This week one of the choices is a chicken curry so I guess he will be busy again.

Re: Restaurants

I owe an apology to Jonbxl.
We went to Restaurante Wok on Ave. Molino de la Vega; the name was right, the food was as described, and I now understand the directions!
Both the steaks and the seafood selection were better than in the Dim Sum Wok, near Carrefour.
If you fancy trying it I think you should go soon, as it might not be open for long, if today was typical. It is ENORMOUS, over 300 covers, and for 45 minutes around 2pm on a working day, we were the only customers!

Thanks. I'm glad you found it OK and can confirm the food description. We also wondered how they could pay the rent and salaries for such a huge place, we were a couple with +/- 20 other people and even then found it odd, so fully understand your concern. We often dont even go into a resto, even though recommended if its empty... so there is a risk there.

Still up for a motorbike meet - I'll bring a couple of fillet steaks from the Ayamonte butcher for the barbie :)

Thanks

Jon
