Re: Restaurants
Went to Ortega plaza yesterday for a take away chicken from the chicken shop in the corner opposite Negro. Noticed a big increase in footfall from 10 days ago and the whole place was alive. Quite a few of the bars open serving outside in the square. Jon’s favourite tapas bars was serving beer and coffee not sure on food. Mostly orderly queues but both women and men of a certain age maybe 40-60 did not seem to regard social distancing with the same respect as a 75yr old. However all good humoured with a few conversations from the square to the second or third floor balcony. Lots of banter across the square between queues.

Re: La Consolacion
Signs of life in the resto world. We went to La Consolacion in Cartaya, for their wonderful tapas, and, apart from the masks on the faces of the staff, nothing had changed. There may have been a table or two less, but that's all. I had the brocheta of Iberian pork in a Pedro Jimenez wine sauce, more like a media then a tapas, and good value at 4 or 5 euros, I can't remember which.
It's on the roundabout on the main road between Aldi and Carrefour.

Re: Restaurants
Hi everyone,
So we are back over in this wonderful place for a while. Strange times, so quiet especially noticeable at the golf club and shop.
I do suppose that Covid has now made any future investor of a new bar/restaurant stop in their tracks and re-think. Such a pity. Has there been any update?
On another note, I assume water parks remain closed?

Re: Restaurants
Im so glad that it is now definitely on and not a rumour any more.
Its the best location on CE IMO, and should succeed with proper professional management.. 👍👍👍
Looking forward to trying it... And hoping that it will become a 'local'

Re: Restaurants
But this is a tad more likely, run by a villa owner who obviously knows the area.... And maybe a cool Guinness will be served
And as we discussed on another thread earlier this year.... Probably no issues with the licence/paperwork.... As long as all the homework has been fully done. Again experience will be useful here....
Lets see, but not holding my breath.... But after this crazy year, nice to have something (to try ) and look forward too.... 🤞🤞

Actually looks like the Spanish water park is open.... https://cartaya.aquopolis.es/ Smaller than the Portuguese parks but well run, we were planning to go but didn’t go in the end as we were 50:50 on the Covid issue, although the US advice we found online said that provided the water was properly chlorinated that it was low risk...my teenage boys were gung ho but my daughter refused!

Hi, One of the conditions that my investors had to move forward with the purchase of the commercial unit in Esuri was for the lift to be functioning. As this is needed to run a business on the top floor. The bank provided the funds and below is a photo taken today of a technician putting the lift through its paces. I expect full inspection by next week. And I look forward to releasing the full information of the new services and facility that will be opening soon on Costa Esuri. Covid may have slowed it down slightly but it also emphasised the need for more facilities on Costa Esuri. I have just signed off on the project managing and really looking forward to getting it to key in hand stage.

Re: Restaurants
Looking good then !! I can't see how a new resto and bar could possibly fail. Absolutely no real competition and hundreds of owners all gagging to go somewhere local rather than going into town. We used to shoot over the bridge to eat at Lupi's until he closed. (monte francisco). I'm sure Jags would still be a success were it not for the legalities. Can't wait !!
