Re: Restaurants
OK we were informed that there was vegetable soup to start with a choice of chicken or cod and prawn parcels for the main dish.
We did as we normally do in these circumstances and that is order both mains, one each.
Bread, olives and a salad (Russianish ? ) were put on the table and we thought this is looking OK.
The soup arrived it was at best mediocre, but with some bread it filled a small hole.
When eventually the mains arrived there was:-
1) " chicken and chips " I use the term very loosely, limp chips some bones and skin, best description of the chicken was it resembled the leftovers of a meal someone had already devoured. i.e. lacking in meat.
2) Cod and prawn parcels, I have not idea what the parcels themselves were made of, the filling resembled wallpaper paste although there was a faint possibility that a prawn had been in their vicinity.
We did pay, easier and less traumatic than a fight + the hours waiting to get attention. Luis followed us out the door and it was obvious by his demeanour that he was aware of the problems
However in his defence I will admit that he was absolutely correct in that the service was crap.

Re: Restaurants
Have just returned from the pre-opening party at the old Argentinian. Lovely menu, choice of Steaks, Pork and Fish, small selection of starters and desserts but all interesting and pitched at the quality end of the market. Could be opening Wednesday but not 100% certain yet so will post again when it has been confirmed. Regards Bryony

Re: Restaurants
Semana Santa is Holy Week - ie the week leading up to Easter Sunday - which is on the 20th April this year.
Fiestas De Las Angustias is from 4th Sept to 9th September 2014 (I believe)

Re: Restaurants
The renewal of restaraunt LuPi continues apace with the start by request of a group of walkers/cyclists for breakfast. So last Thursday he opened at 07.30 for a selection of breakfasts and teas or coffee.
He will continue service until 10.00 and for those looking for something lighter there will be a continental selection or toast if that is what you fancy. The full English is €5.99. This might suit those Esuri golfers playing off an early tee at Castro Marim or Quinto do Vale to get a good start to the day. We might give it a try when we catch a lunchtime flight out of Faro.
There is a Vaggabund Dogs fundraiser tonight at the CE Golf Club with a pre-booked meal and entertainment so we are going to give the full English a try instead of an early lunch.

P.S. don't know whether you know but using capitols throughout your post is the same as shouting when you talk

So are we safe to say it is definitely going ahead then. Not so worried when, just as long as it does. So important to have more local places to go and support.
